I often spend time with my grandchildren as many know. Lately, I have been devoting time with them to prayer and principles of what we would call the Kingdom.
One of those areas has been the area of words, prayer and agreement.
Prayer of Agreement
Jesus said in Matthew, “Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”
Can we say amen? One of the principles I have been sharing has been, when we agree with something because it is biblically right, (or timely, good or providential, etc..) that is a good opportunity to step in and voice agreement, with an “amen” or something along the lines of “yes.” Amen means “So be it.” As far as we are concerned, the matter is closed. We just thank God from that point forward. We know if we want results we must not waver. To waver is to doubt.
Jesus wants you to agree and will see to it that it comes to pass. The word agree is translated in The Amplified Bible as “agree and harmonize together or make a symphony together.” The word symphony caught my attention one time, so I looked it up and found that it means “all available instruments in harmony.” You must have your spirit, mind and actions in agreement with the Word.
Agreeing spiritually is to agree with the Word of God. Make up your mind God’s Word is true and that it will come to pass.
The opposite of that is to not agree either with our words (“No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their vindication is from Me,” declares the LORD. Isaiah 54:17) I am okay with someone not agreeing. At least they are in the game. But to see something wrong or be in disagreement and not voice it…I do not get that. The other part of that is agreeing is giving power to the words spoken. Not agreeing with something that is wrongful and not “condemning” it allows it to develop life.
Remember, “the power of life and death is in the tongue.” Let your yes be yes and your no be no.
